Newbie Ritualist Questions
I have played only assassins until now and decided to try this class, not completely aware of the role this class played I have muddled through until now. Now I have to pick a secondary, my play style has always been damage dealing in a form or another, support roles such as healing I haven't been able to grip. I guess I am asking for help here, not sure what way to go, I absolutley love the assassin class and wonder if there is a viable build here for an assassin secondary.
Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated, even any insight as to the class, to help me better grip the class and its potential.

Ritualist is mainly pure ritualists, unless you go necro for minion master/bombing. An assassin could work, but you would probably be using the teleports or something and not the dagger attacks.

Which I goes along with assassins, I find I use mainly pure build there as well. I might just take the assassin secondary so I can play with it and see if its viable. Can always switch it later.

Just so you know, there are several threads regarding the Ritualist that you should read. Since you like to cause damage, you should read the threads regarding Channelling, Rits as Damagers, and a few other ones. Some people argue that Ritualists are better than monks at healing and reducing damage. Others say that Ritualists are better at doing damage than an Elementalist.
There are a few build that will encompass another class, but you are better off using all of the Ritualist's powers.

Thanks folks for the replies, sounds like the best I can do is play the class and get a feel for what it can and can't do. I'll also stay on top of the forum's and see what you experienced Rits are doing! LOL

Hrrrm... i could mainly think of uses in conjunction with Draw Spirit or damage based ashes. This way you can prepare your damage before the combat started.
One example i could think of but never tried it before might be:
Quote:
Grasping was Kuurong [E]
Earthbind
Destruction
Draw Spirit
Rupture Soul
Deaths Charge (the one skill teleporting you IN)
Return (the one teleporting you back somewhere safe)
A Res
|
I'd call it something like the evil Ritu bomb. I'm not too sure on the Asassin Skillnames due to bad translation now and then. However in theory (mind you, i never tested this):
Grasping was Kuurong
When dropped they will do some minor AOE Damage but moreover knock every surrounding enemy down.
Earthbind
Is there to make sure that the enemies stay down long enough to pull of your bomb.
Destruction
You will need quite a bit of timing on this one. But when done right, it can deal insande amounts of damage.
Draw Spirit
This is necessary to teleport your destruction spirit towards you.
Rupture Soul
This destroys a target spell (and if you're targetting yourself, it destroys the nearest spirit).
The Sin Skills will be used to get in and out and a res is of course self explaining. When done right this will deal an insane amount of damage in a very short time and as an added bonus blinds every mob hard enough to survive this, which mostly are warrior anyways. Basically what you will do is, cast destruction, cast an earthbind. Get the timing right. Death Charge straight into the mob, quickly grab your ashes, drop them, draw your destruction spirit towards you and nuke it with Rupture Soul, cast recall and get out alive.
This has plenty of weaknesses though.
One obviously is a very high recharge, another one is that 2 second cast inside the mob. This is however only meant to inspire you for your own personal builds using the 'sin secondary. I'm just trying to show that there might be uses, even if only focussing on the teleportation skills.

I have a very noob question to ask. I was looking through the 15k armor thread and noticed that some of you ritualists have charcoal black skin. How did you get it like that? When I created my rit. last night, I don't remember seeing it as a option for character skin color. Is it simply dyed?
